If you live in Southern Utah,  then you understand the struggles, its very simple, If you want a job you have to know the right people, or have a great connection with a higher power and call forth a miracle.  Its really rather stupid that instead of looking at someone for their skill set one of the first things they look for is their name and who their connected to, and while being shallow is what the world is asking of us its seriously frustrating when a state claiming to be christian and non judgemental, acts with such a double standard, take of the mask of religion, and grow up.

just let stuff go.

Recently my girlfriend has been having problems with her mother, someone said something or did something and now feelings are hurt, and honestly I notice this is very common (in Utah anyway) and is just stupid. Why would you waste time and energy fuming over something that happened, it is not only destructive to charactor, but is petty and childish, I have found a great mantra that helps me personally, (no ones perfect I at times struggle to let stuff go) it goes like this "just let it go" If your LDS and don't even get me started on how many people are hurting feelings with careless words or judgmental attitudes in the lds church, then you should remember the talk my Elder Uchdorf I believe he said "stop it" and yet after time and time again of being chastised there are people who are still leaving the church, or even just loosing friendships and relationships because people lack empathy, and campassion, but on the other hand, when did we become such a soft culture that we allow words to dictate our attitudes, I know Im ranting, and I don't care right now, because seriously people GROW THE HELL UP, sit down talk it out, be open about how you feel, and DONT TAKE OFFENSE to when people say or do something that you find offensive, maybe if we learn to let stuff go we can actually start to accept people for how they are hardwired as well, lets stop the hate and start understanding each other, shit happens and people deal with it differently and sometimes people just need someone to say "it's ok"

what to do

So if any of you have never been to the middle of no where its located in St. George Utah, ya sure its great for hikes and camping but how many times can you do that when you live here, I love hikes as much as the next guy, but I'm personally to busy to travel out everyday and take hike, anyway the point is there really isn't to much to do out here, honestly I can think of two different options for us of  the "college" age, actually its more like two different categories, the first is for the ones that don't believe or like to party or drink, and having been in that scene I personally do not like to attend those types of "events" anymore, they will sit at home watch T.V. maybe go bowling once in a blue moon, but honestly there isn't anything else for us, no places we can just relax, no where to just go and socialize.

the other group is the partiers, no need for extra explaining I'm sure we all have been to a party at least once, and if you haven't it kind of goes like this, choke back a drink, laugh act like it tastes good, choke back another drink, repeat, after about ten minutes of this you will either pass out, or join a cult, one that worships the porcelain god while chanting "ehhh never again" it also induces a short term memory loss.

All in all this is not the best stop for people of our age group.
So, somehow you ended up here huh? Well you must be pretty desperate to have come to me for advice, I'm not really a great writing, nor am I gifted with words, and I have definitely not blogged before...but so what, who cares, like they say it's not about being read its about being written.  Whats going to be written here? well that's a great question now sit down shut up and let me talk, or write, whatever, I am currently enrolled in Dixie State University full time, I work part time, and I am in a committed relationship, so no I'm nothing special, but I'm going to write about what we, the lowest of the low on the poverty level go through, our struggles, our victories, and occasionally when something awesome and cool happens, all of this but just from the perspective of one, me. The great part about the Internet, if you don't like what I say well hit that little red x in the top right corner, and I hope you get trapped in a room barefoot surrounded by Lego's, because I know I am an ass, I make no excuse for myself.

So if your stuck on this journey with me I guess you should know about me, I'm not going to give my last name but you can call me Braidon, I am 22 years old come the 11th of this September of this year 2014, my major as of yet is unannounced, I'm a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and if you haven't noticed I don't care about what others think to much, I also believe what I believe (which some of my beliefs are my own and do not in some cases reflect the beliefs of the entire LDS church).

So now that we have that out of the way lets get down to business, "to defeat, the Huns" sorry I sometimes burst into lyrics, now as many of you know us "college students" have a heavy workload, and thats not including work (if you do work) just this semester I have ten essays I have to write, plus my art classes, work, and making sure I plan out dates, talk about stressfull. I mean I guess it could be worse, I could be stuck in Fergeson. To soon? I'm not trying to complain, I did choose this for myself, but I decided to start this because a guy tried to sell me something (I dont remember what the heck it was) and he made the comment that college students "have the most time and money of any age group" and that we need to make sure we "spend money and have fun while you can right now". I seriously almost laughed in his face, anyway Im probably boring the holy living puppycat out of you, who even reads blogs anyways? 'sigh whatever im already committed to writing this, so ill see you next time or whatever. (and shut up all you grammar nazi's and let me live my life)
